plasma painting
Rendered in plate steel and plasma torch cut by hand, these cut-out paintings are surrounded by an aerosol-layered lexicon of stenciled symbology related to my art practice, process, and belief system in a vibrating color theory palette. My figurative renderings cut into the steel are then outlined in one-shot enamel black. Ironically, another material whose history is based in letter forms, I’ve adapted to render my figure-based communities. These panels are then either installed directly onto a wall with stand-offs or hung on a customized set of steel easels and lit to project a Shadow Mural.
