This is an introduction to Metal Inert Gas welding. Running seams, spot welding, and fabrication techniques are explored. In addition, a run-through of the associated tools needed for steel fabrication is conducted: angle grinder, die grinder, bench grinder, chop saw, drill press, and sandblaster.
After the introduction class is complete, space and tools can be rented by the hour.

In the introduction, we will discuss cutting a steel plate with the plasma torch and/or Oxygen Acetylene Torch. This class will follow the process of transferring an image to steel and how to cut it out, chasing and finishing cut-out techniques, and the associated tool demonstrations needed for accomplishing this: angle grinder, die-grinder, drill press, and sandblaster.

WASTE MOLDS
Waste moulds are created from sculpted clay in a positive form, plaster mould, or casting in plaster, concrete, wax, or winter stone.$1450 per student, four classes, 4 hours per session. The object can be no larger than 16” x 16 "x 16” or equivalent volume; larger objects are priced on consultation.
